Benefit and Virtues of Surah Ad Duha
Surah Duha is 93rd surah of Holy Quran. This surah was revealed on Prophet Muhammad SAW when he SAW was in Mecca. This surah is one of the shortest surahs of Quran containing 11 ayahs.
Duha is an Arabic word that means ‘the bright morning’ or ‘a dawn’. Most of the scholars are agreed on the point that this is the second surah of Quran revealed on Propphet Muhammad SAWW after Surah Alaq.
Suran Alaq was the very first surah and the beginning of the revelation of Holy Quran. After the revelation of Surah Alaq, there came a long period of silence between Gibael and Prophet Muhammad SAWW. And angel Gibaer didn’t arrive to bring the messages of Allah Almighty.
Holy Prophet Muhammad SAWW was saddened and grieved during this period of time. He SAWW thought he might have done something inappropriate and displeased Allah Almighty.
Surah Duha was revealed to break that silence. It means a new morning of prophet hood for Muhammad PBUH. After the revelation of this surah, the continuity of revelation of Holy Quran never suspended till the passing away of Prophet Muhammad SAWW.

Surah Duha
وَٱلضُّحَىٰ ١
By the morning sunlight,
وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا سَجَىٰ ٢
And the night when it falls still!
مَا وَدَّعَكَ رَبُّكَ وَمَا قَلَىٰ ٣
Your Lord ˹O Prophet˺ has not abandoned you, nor has He become hateful ˹of you˺.
وَلَلْـَٔاخِرَةُ خَيْرٌۭ لَّكَ مِنَ ٱلْأُولَىٰ ٤
And the next life is certainly far better for you than this one.
وَلَسَوْفَ يُعْطِيكَ رَبُّكَ فَتَرْضَىٰٓ ٥
And ˹surely˺ your Lord will give so much to you that you will be pleased.
أَلَمْ يَجِدْكَ يَتِيمًۭا فَـَٔاوَىٰ ٦
Did He not find you as an orphan then sheltered you?
وَوَجَدَكَ ضَآلًّۭا فَهَدَىٰ ٧
Did He not find you unguided then guided you?
وَوَجَدَكَ عَآئِلًۭا فَأَغْنَىٰ ٨
And did He not find you needy then satisfied your needs?
٩ فَأَمَّا ٱلْيَتِيمَ فَلَا تَقْهَرْ
So do not oppress the orphan,
وَأَمَّا ٱلسَّآئِلَ فَلَا تَنْهَرْ ١٠
Nor repulse the beggar.
وَأَمَّا بِنِعْمَةِ رَبِّكَ فَحَدِّثْ ١١
And proclaim the blessings of your Lord.
Surah Al-Duha
Durin the 6 months long break of revelation of the Quran, Muhammad SAWW was going through a very hard time. He was facing hatred and taunts from his fraternity and clan members. Apart from that he thought I have dissatisfied Allah Almighty.
In all these hard-hitting circumstances this beautiful surah released all the stress and tension of Prophet Muhammad PBUH. Allah SWT showed His affection towards Prophet Muhammad SAW in this surah.
It is narrated that Jabir R.A said,
“Muadh R.A stood upand prayed Isha and made it lengthy. The Prophet SAW said, do you want tocause hardship to the people, O Muadh, do you want cause hardship to the people O Muadh? Why didn’t you recite Glorify the name of your Lord Most High (Surah Alaa) or Surah Duha or when the heaven is cleft (Surah Infitar)”?

Benefits of Reciting Surah Duha
Life is shade of different colors. And ups and downs are part of our lives. Allah SWT put hard times on us to test our faith. People who see darkness in their lives are instructed to recite Surah Duha. As the name of this surah denoting a new morning of life.
This surah releases stress, depression and anxiety of the person who recites it. One can recite this surah to pray for a successful marriage, to start his/her business or to get a job.
Because the so satisfying meaning and translation of this surah gives you a lot of courage and support of Allah Almighty. Recitation and understanding of Surah Duha enforces us to emphasis of the life hereafter.
Recitation of Surah Duha is the best source to please Allah Almighty. Islamic scholars believe that if you have lost something, recite Surah Duha. You will find it back safe and sound.
If you are feeling low, harassed or worried, Surah Duha is the best thing to recite at that time.
Conclusion
Surah Duha was revealed when Prophet Muhammad PBUH was stressed and worried. In that disturbed state of mind, Allah SWT showed His complete support to our beloved Prophet Muhammad SAWW.
In the same way when we feel alone and want to reconnect with Allah Almighty to ask forgiveness and get His help. We should recite Surah Duha. Allah is definitely here to help us to give us hope for the good days.
